Житель поселка Заболотье Смолевичского района в ночь с субботы на воскресенье употреблял алкоголь, — рассказал инспектор, оформлявший ДТП. — На следующее утро его сожительница попросила подвезти дочку на станцию электрички. Водитель посадил 11-летнюю девочку на переднее пассажирское сиденье Mitsubishi Space Star и, вопреки просьбе, повез ее в Минск — кататься на каруселях.
Мужчину подбросило вверх более чем на 2 метра, он упал на траву на разделительной полосе и сразу потерял сознание. Прибывшие на место ДТП медики поставили предварительный диагноз „черепно-мозговая травма, вызвавшая кому“. Девочка, ехавшая на переднем сиденье, также не воспользовалась ремнем безопасности, однако чудом ей удалось избежать серьезных травм — врачи диагностировали у нее лишь ушиб грудной клетки». Как стало известно позже, мужчина вышел из комы, состояние его здоровья улучшилось.

Житель Липецка Евгений Титов снял на мобильник, как строители ломают стену нежилого здания во дворе магазина. Но рухнувшие с высоты почти 10 метров кирпичи после удара о землю буквально разлетелись в разные стороны с невероятной скоростью. Несколько осколков угодили прямо в личанина. Сразу же поднялась паника. Очевидцы требуют вызвать скорую, но, как стало известно позже, это не помогло.
По словам родственницы погибшего, у него были сломаны все ребра, раздроблены кости таза, повреждены внутренние органы, а «от головы осталась просто каша».
За жизнь Евгения Титова боролись хирурги, но спасти его не удалось.
Сейчас видеозапись с мобильного телефона Евгения изучают следователи. По утверждению родных погибшего, на видео хорошо видно, что молодой человек, находящийся между Евгением и стройкой, должен был отвечать за безопасность проведения работ, а не снимать происходящее на видео.

Сержант полиции Дмитрий возвращался домой на автомобиле вместе со своей женой, когда на улице Розы Люксембург заметил мужчину с большой сумкой, за которым бежали две женщины.
Не раздумывая, сотрудник полиции бросился на помощь женщинам. Остановив автомобиль, сержант полиции догнал и задержал убегающего мужчину. Женщины рассказали полицейскому, что молодой человек похитил товар из обувного магазина. Вместе с очевидцами преступления, сержант полиции дождался приезда наряда полиции, после чего передал задержанного сотрудникам патрульно-постовой службы ОП № 2 УМВД России по городу Томску.
В отношении молодого человека было возбуждено уголовное дело. В ходе следствия полицейские установили, что в обувном магазине, расположенном по переулку 1905 года, задержанный похитил 7 пар мужской обуви и спортивную сумку. Подозреваемому 20 лет, ранее к уголовной ответственности он не привлекался. Злоумышленник, вероятно, скрылся бы с места преступления, если бы не был задержан бдительным сотрудником полиции.
Отделом дознания отдела полиции № 2 УМВД России по городу Томску возбуждено уголовное дело по части 1 статьи 161 УК РФ (грабеж). Санкция данной статьи предусматривает наказание в виде лишения свободы сроком до четырех лет.

DARPA’s Reliable Neural-Interface Technology (RE-NET) program researched the long-term viability of brain interfaces and continues research to develop high-performance, reliable peripheral interfaces. These new peripheral interfaces use signals from nerves or muscles to both control prosthetics and to provide direct sensory feedback. Ongoing clinical trials present compelling examples of both interface types.
“Although the current generation of brain, or cortical, interfaces have been used to control many degrees of freedom in an advanced prosthesis, researchers are still working on improving their long-term viability and performance,” said Jack Judy, DARPA program manager. “The novel peripheral interfaces developed under RE-NET are approaching the level of control demonstrated by cortical interfaces and have better biotic and abiotic performance and reliability. Because implanting them is a lower risk and less invasive procedure, peripheral interfaces offer greater potential than penetrating cortical electrodes for near-term treatment of amputees. RE-NET program advances are already being made available to injured warfighters in clinical settings.”

Advances enable advanced prosthetic control and direct sensory feedback.
Since 2000, more than 2,000 servicemembers have suffered amputated limbs. DARPA’s breakthrough research with advanced prosthetic limbs controlled by brain interfaces is well documented, but such research is currently limited to quadriplegics; practical applications of brain interfaces for amputees are still in the future. In contrast, nerve and muscle interfaces allow amputees to control advanced prosthetics in the near term. Recent demonstrations may give Wounded Warriors hope that they can soon take advantage of these breakthroughs.
DARPA’s Reliable Neural-Interface Technology (RE-NET) program researched the long-term viability of brain interfaces and continues research to develop high-performance, reliable peripheral interfaces. These new peripheral interfaces use signals from nerves or muscles to both control prosthetics and to provide direct sensory feedback. Ongoing clinical trials present compelling examples of both interface types.
“Although the current generation of brain, or cortical, interfaces have been used to control many degrees of freedom in an advanced prosthesis, researchers are still working on improving their long-term viability and performance,” said Jack Judy, DARPA program manager. “The novel peripheral interfaces developed under RE-NET are approaching the level of control demonstrated by cortical interfaces and have better biotic and abiotic performance and reliability. Because implanting them is a lower risk and less invasive procedure, peripheral interfaces offer greater potential than penetrating cortical electrodes for near-term treatment of amputees. RE-NET program advances are already being made available to injured warfighters in clinical settings.”
A team of researchers at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) demonstrated a type of peripheral interface called targeted muscle re-innervation (TMR). By rewiring nerves from amputated limbs, new interfaces allow for prosthetic control with existing muscles. Former Army Staff Sgt.
